NAME COMBO: No mix of starlets and serial killers here. The name comes from the fact that John is the 5 member of the band.

PREVIOUS BANDS: The David Lee Roth Band, 2, Salt 'n Peppa, K.D.Lang

BASIC HISTORY: John Lowery was originally with the band 2, with just him and former Iron Maiden vocalist, Rob Halford. After 2 wasn't selling as much as they had hoped, John5 left in the summer of 98. Former Marilyn Manson guitarist Zim Zum was fired around this time (he was fired because of his "lack of interest" in the band, he wasn't showing up for guitar practice, didn't want to tour, etc.). So Marilyn Manson (the band) decided to hire Jon Lowery as the new guitarist. John was christened with the name Jon 5 (because he was the 5 member to enter the band since 1989). What most people don't know is that John5 was supposed to be the original guitarist for Anti-Christ Superstar but he missed some sort of deadline so Zim-Zum was chosen.
